Originally
called Ass-R@#$, the idea originated sometime in 1999 by Keith
Palumbo of Gomez, Fourth Grade Nothing and Sea Of Thousand
fame.
While
working at Waterloo Records in Austin, TX, Keith met his hetero
life-mate Chris Cline and they embarked on a journey that
still lives in the hearts of many today. With nothing
but song titles and ideas for over 2 years, Chris moved back
to his place of birth and the project was put off until 2002.
It was at this point that it was resurrected in a fiery cataclysm
of hope and pain. After spending a couple of days in
the studio working on the music, Keith and Chris, much to
their dismay, realized that the vocals were unrealized, and
thus Craig Moore (employer/employee, Sea of Thousand) stepped
up and rocked the house with his unparalleled talent for lyricism
and vocals.
It
was at this point that Asp came into its own and started to
change the ways of the world with shocking truths that most
were afraid to hear. Social commentary put to the test.
We hope you’re listening.
